What is Storage and Distribution?

Storage and distribution systems hold purified water after production and deliver it to points of use. In centralized laboratory water systems, storage and distribution design is as important as the purification process itself.

Poor storage design can quickly reduce water quality through microbial growth, carbon dioxide absorption, leaching, stagnation or contamination from air.

What problems can occur during storage?

Why is storage design important?

Producing purified water is only half the task. The water must remain suitable until it reaches the user. A poorly designed storage tank or distribution loop can compromise the quality of water even if the purification system is performing correctly.

This is especially important in large laboratories, multi-user facilities and centralized systems supplying several dispensing points.
